I was born and raised in the suburbs outside Atlanta, and I lived in the same house my entire life with my parents and my older brother. They are truly the best people. I am so grateful for my relationship with them.

I have been to some of the most beautiful places in the world, and I want to go everywhere on the planet that I am able.

I am a dog person forever and ever! we have two family dogs: sheepadoodles (old english sheepdogs + poodles) named Marlow and bogey. they’re so funny.

I’ve played tennis for as long as I can remember, and I still play today with my mom!

and now we play pickleball, too!

i have the best people in my life!

I’ve always wanted to live in Paris, but now that I’m older, I don’t think it will happen. Emily in Paris is my favorite daydream, though!

My New Year's Resolution is to make myself like salmon by the end of 2025 (not bad, so far).

I sing and play guitar, piano, ukulele, and double bass. I would love to play the cello!

I love reading.

I want to write a book someday.

I sang a cappella in front of 4,000 people one time. That was cool.

My retirement daydream is to open my own flower shop called Mayjack’s after my grandparents, Mary and John, whose nicknames were “May” and “Jack”, and I loved them very much.

I think I will always have more hobbies than any normal person does.

I hate puzzles, baking, and the recumbent bike. (And frogs.)

I’m absolutely terrified of frogs.

I want to go to all four ATP Major Opens before I die.

My mom and brother like birdwatching, which I think is sweet.

I pronounce my name JOL-ee, not Joe-lee (southern), not Ju-lie (wrong vowel but close!), not Ju-lia (wrong), not Jos-ie (always confuses me how we get Josie but anyways), and not Dolly Parton’s 1973 “Jolene” chorus (but this one is always really fun).

I wish life would go back to a time before social media. But, of course, I made a career out of it, so here we are.

I’m completely obsessed with personality tests like the Enneagram and Meyers Briggs. I’m a 7w8 and ENTJ, respectively.

I have auditioned for The Voice! (It didn’t work out.) I sang Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie’.

I’d be a totally awesome famous person, and I’d absolutely love it (in a super, down-to-earth, not self-absorbed way).

I studied Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton in high school for two years in a row, and I think my teacher hated me!

I love sports and hazelnut lattes and fashion and fantasy books and the smell of coffee. I love vinyl records Europe and peonies and French 75s and Amaretto Sours and stained-glass windows and paintings by Claude Monet and the Chicago River. I love jazz clubs and disco balls and pistachio gelato and and Noah Kahan’s Live at Fenway Park album and poetry and unique pieces of jewelry. I love polar bears even though I’ve never met one, and I especially love chocolate croissants (but even more when I get to call it a “pain au chocolat” at a Parisian bakery). I love cozy blankets and kind people and making people laugh. I love it when people really know me.
